Mother’s Day Weekend in OKC
Mother’s Day is this weekend and that means doing something special for the women who have done so much for us. Oklahoma City offers plenty of fun activities to make this Mother’s Day the most special one!
Nothing says thank you like a good meal, and OKC offers some of the best food around. Enjoy a delicious brunch at one of the spots below to start the weekend.
Cafe Kacao: This restaurant made the Yelp list of “Top 100 Brunch Spots for Mother’s Day” in the country. A Guatemalan restaurant that is locally owned features traditional Guatemalan dishes such as motulenos and Izabal breakfast. This is a hot spot so be sure to join the wait list as spots fill up quickly!

Bradford House: The interior designer in everyone comes out as soon as they step foot inside the Bradford House. This place is a historic home with a unique interior and furnishings. When you step foot in here, be sure to snap every photo-op you can.

Harvey Bakery: A favorite with the locals as this is just the place for a mid-day coffee and pastry. They offer a full menu of breakfast and lunch, along with an out-of-this-world selection of pastries and coffee drinks. Sit in the old Chrysler showroom and enjoy your food or grab a to-go item from their fridge. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu!

Food is the way to the heart, but so is doing something fun! Oklahoma City has something for every mom to do. Take a relaxing river cruise on the Oklahoma River and experience the Mother’s Day cruise that features desserts and a mimosa bar. Visit the Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center and participate in art workshops such as making your own jewelry or taking a turn on the potter’s wheel. Have a picnic at one of the many parks, Myriad Garden, Scissortail Park or Will Rogers Park.
After having a great meal, pick up a gift at one of the many local spots.

Myriad Gardens Shop: Walk through the newly renovated Myriad Garden and follow it up with a trip to the gift shop. They have nature and plant-themed gifts like books, games, home decor and more.

Chirps & Cheers: For those of us who love a good card or stationary item, this is the perfect spot. Chirps & Cheers has unique cards that cannot be found anywhere else and are sure to make any mom feel so special. The shop sells custom stationery, holds classes and is sure to stand out.
