Join Factory Obscura on Saturday, March 23, from 2 to 8 p.m., for the much-anticipated Future of Sound Fest at 25 NW 9th St in downtown Oklahoma City. This free outdoor event celebrates the changing seasons with a unique blend of local music, an artist market featuring handmade goods, and the release of Mix-Tape Vol. 5—a cassette compilation inspired by Factory Obscura’s immersive art experience.
The festival takes place on 9th Street in Automobile Alley, where Factory Obscura’s bright building with its colorful murals sets the stage for a creative celebration. Six live bands, including Sweetest Pot, Challo, Baileyboy, Cheyanne Marie, Moriah Bailey and Psychic Baths, will rock the outdoor Artist Alley with original songs inspired by the Mix-Tape experience. Performances run hourly from 2 to 8 p.m.
While at the fest, explore the Spring Artist Market from 2 to 8 p.m., showcasing unique handmade goods by local artists. Dive into the Mix-Tape experience (ticketed), a 6,000-square-foot immersive art journey through emotions expressed in music. Reservations are recommended for this popular attraction.
Also, don’t miss the Bonus Track Shop, open to the public with no ticket required, offering handmade and artist-designed goods. Inside, you can purchase Mix-Tape Vol. 5—a compilation of six songs produced in collaboration with local artists inspired by the Mix-Tape experience.
Factory Obscura’s Mix-Tape series, now in its fifth year, continues to highlight the vibrancy of art and music coming together with local OKC talent.
