A Rich History
OKC Pride has been the official organizer of Oklahoma City’s annual Pride event since 1988, becoming the not-for-profit organization OKC Pride, Inc. in 2004. Over the years, OKC Pride, Inc. has transformed Pride week into a major regional destination, drawing crowds from Oklahoma and surrounding states.
The 39th Street District
Located in NW Oklahoma City, the 39th Street District is a bustling commercial area that stretches from Pennsylvania Avenue to Youngs Boulevard. In the 1920s, this area was part of the historic Route 66 and became a popular tourist stop. By the 1970s, it was known as “The Strip,” a nickname it retains to this day. Now, it is home to 45 locally owned businesses, offering some of the city’s best entertainment and catering to a beautifully diverse mix of customers.

Annual Pride Parade: Sunday, June 2 at 6 p.m., starting at 39th St. and Classen Blvd., and heading west down 39th St to Youngs Blvd.
