Start at the top and work your way down

Dust everywhere
This is a great time to get all those areas that are often overlooked like baseboards and behind appliances or large pieces of furniture.
Clean out closets
Go through each family member’s clothes and look for any items that are too small, worn out or not your style anymore. Once you’ve finished, drop them off at your nearest Goodwill or Salvation Army donation location.
Polish the metal around the house
In line with giving attention to often forgotten areas, take a few minutes to polish your doorknobs, hinges and other metal surfaces around your house to give them their shine back.
Spruce up your outdoor spaces
With the warmer weather just around the corner, now is the time to wash your deck and patio furniture, power wash the deck and driveway, treat any mildewed surfaces and replace any burned out bulbs or damaged strands of lights.
